Enoch Office Equipment employee Rick Donovan once again partnered with WNST radio personalities Drew Forrester, Glenn Clark and WNST CEO Nestor Aparicio to collect and deliver coats and clothing to Baltimore’s Helping Up Mission, a faith based initiative dedicated to helping not only the homeless of Baltimore, but also those fighting addiction, or individuals struggling to get back on their feet after being released from prison.
Throughout this year Enoch Office was a designated ‘drop off” location for the coat and clothing drive.
This partnership began in 2010, when Forrester, the host of WNST’s “Morning Reaction,” asked his listeners to bring him coats, coats he planned to handout to the homeless men and women of Baltimore city.
“I hoped to get 25 coats,” said Forrester, not expecting to generate a lot of interest.
Forrester got more than he had expected – 232 coats to be exact! Forrester then took those coats downtown, in a van donated by Joe Enoch, to an amazing facility called Helping Up Mission and distributed those coats to the needy men and women of Baltimore City.
Three years later, Forrester and Enoch are still getting together each and every holiday season to collect and distribute coats to the less fortunate.
During a holiday season that is marred nowadays by greed and commercialism, it is nice to know that philanthropic events like this still take place. Everyone here at Enoch would like to thank you for your generous donations!
“Seeing the gratitude of those receiving these [clothing] items – Is just tremendous,” said Forrester.

Enoch Office Equipment is committed to supporting local charities and charitable events. That is why company President Joe Enoch, as well as Candace Enoch, Lauren Newton, Amy DiStefano, Carla Barbera and Gary Whitbread all took to the streets this past weekend, taking part in the Baltimore Running Festival (5K) as part of Team Best Buddies Maryland.
At Enoch Office Equipment, our employees are proud to be part of the Enoch team, where giving back to the community is an essential part of our success!
This exciting and fun charity event, which took place on Saturday, October 13, 2012, helped support the programs and services of Best Buddies Maryland, while at the same time raising fundamental awareness of our vital friendship, integrated employment, and leadership programs.
Best Buddies Mission:To establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
People with disabilities are often excluded from society because of their differences. We are a third generation, locally owned family company that has served Baltimore businesses since 1961. As our industry has evolved, Enoch has been there every step of the way from the typewriter of the 1960′s and 70′s to the fax of the 1980′s to the digital color output devices and document management systems of today!
Enoch Office Equipment is proud to be a part of the Baltimore, Maryland community. That is why we volunteer our time to help support local charities, like the Salvation Army. In fact, just earlier this week, Enoch sponsored a hole at the Salvation Army’s Play More Feed More Columbus Day Golf Tournament at the Rolling Road Golf Club. This was the Salvation Army’s third annual Golf Tournament to benefit its Play More Feed More Program.
The Salvation Army, which first came to Baltimore in 1880, ministers to the moral and physical needs of all those who seek its help. As part of its mission to serve the people of Baltimore, the Salvation Army developed its Play More Feed More Program. Six nights a week, the Salvation Army mobile feeding unit takes to the streets of Baltimore City to provide hot meals, clothing, warm blankets, and toiletries to homeless and impoverished men, women, and children.
At Enoch, our employees are proud to be part of the Enoch team, where giving back to the community is an essential part of our success!

Right around the All Star break, the Baltimore Orioles had showed a small glimmer of hope of being a .500 baseball team. Around the same time, Joe Enoch, president of Enoch Office Equipment, was having a conversation with a few Enoch employees, Rick Donovan and Sherrie Jones. The three, being big Orioles fans, started talking about the possibilities of Baltimore making the playoffs for the first time since 1997. Then, inexplicably, Joe Enoch blurted out that if the Oriolesmade the playoffs in 2012, he would run down York Road in his underwear.
At that moment, Sherrie gave him a chance to back out of it. He didn’t.
“We’re not going to forget something like that,” said Donovan, who immediately went out and bought a pair of orange and black boxers, which were put on display at Enoch as a reminder of Joe’s promise.
And guess what? The Orioles made the playoffs. And guess what else? Joe stuck to his word!
On Wednesday, October 3rd at 4:00 pm, Joe Enoch ran down York rd. in Timonium, Maryland sporting the orange and black boxers that Rick bought him, along with a orange and black feather boa, and a Best Buddies Maryland t-shirt.
The event generated a lot of buzz. 106.5 FM talked about Joe’s run on their morning show and WJZ Channel 13 even sent a crew to cover the spectacle.
Oh yea, and one last thing…Go O’s!!!

TasteBuds 2012: Fine Food, Friendship, & Cocktails
TasteBuds, held on Sepetember 20, 2012 at the Hunt Valley Golf Club, was a celebration! It was not only a time to come together and enjoy great food and drink from various local restaurants – including Mama’s on the Half Shell, The Manor Tavern, The Point, Ryleigh’s Oyster, Tark’s Grill, and more – but it was a night to celebrate what Best Buddies is all about, FRIENDSHIP! Friendships are precious, friendships are true, and friendships are a necessary part of life.
Muhammad Ali once said, “Friendship is not something you learn in school. But if you haven’t learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven’t learned anything.”
The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
For many of us, friendships are often taken for granted. But for people with intellectual and physical disabilities, friendships do not always come easy. This is why Best Buddies was formed. This organization thrives on building lasting and unconditional friendships between mainstream individuals and individuals with disabilities.
TasteBuds was a fundraiser designed to help keep Best Buddies strong in 83 high schools, middle schools, and colleges in addition to funding to the program’s adult Citizens and e-Buddies program. Best Buddies currently engages over 3,500 participants and positively impacts more than 35,000 people in Maryland.

Enoch Office Equipment is committed to supporting local charities and charitable events, like the 2012 Liberty Mutual Invitational held on September 11th to benefit the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland.
Established in 1955, the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland (NKF-MD) is a nonprofit, volunteer-based health organization dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.
More than 26 million American adults have chronic kidney disease, with millions more at risk.
An average of 18 people die each day because of the lack of available organs for transplant.
Approximately 1,700 people await kidney transplantation in Maryland.
9,000 people in Maryland are currently on dialysis.
NKF-MD provides free kidney screenings; education for healthcare professionals, patients, and the public; emergency financial assistance for patients; funding for medical research; and much more. However, none of this is possible without the continued support of the public.
The work of NKF-MD is funded solely by donations and special events, like the 2012 Liberty Mutual Invitational.

About Best Buddies
The mission of Best Buddies is to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
When people with intellectual disabilities are unable to attain or maintain a job, it is most often due to an absence of social skills rather than an inadequacy to perform the work required. Best Buddies introduces socialization opportunities and job coaching, providing the necessary tools for people with intellectual disabilities to become more independent and, consequently, more included in the community.

Century Accounting, who is an account of Enoch Office Equipment, came to us wondering if we would contribute to their Stokes Math Competition. We said yes, of course!
Each year, the middle school students at Our Lady of Grace School in Parkton and St. Joseph’s School in Cockeysville come together to take part in a math competition. And the #1 rule: No Calculators Allowed!
The Stokes Math Competition awards 1st through 3rd place winners at each grade level for each of the two schools.
Century Accounting owners Donna and Alan Stokes started the Stokes Math Competition after experiencing difficulty locating qualified bookkeepers/accountants. They were finding that many applicants did not possess the basic math skills required for the job.
“[The Stokes Math Competition] is one way in which we are making a difference to have the next generation of bookkeepers and accountants possess solid basic math skills as they are a necessary skill set for pretty much all careers and life in general,” wrote Donna and Allan Stokes in their blog.
And Enoch Office Equipment was happy to contribute to such a great cause!
